Kevin Federline draws a mixed reaction in the public eye but there was no doubting the aspiring rapper's fighting spirit as he entered the wrestling ring on Monday. Britney Spears' estranged husband squared up to one of the wrestling's biggest stars, John Cena, at Miami's American Airlines Arena in front of a 15,000-strong crowd.
The 28-year-old managed to overcome the odds and beat the 6ft 1in champ in the no-rules contest - albeit with a little help from a 25 stone wrestler named Umaga, who hit Kevin's opponent with a title belt and knocked him to the floor.
Kevin's stamina clearly hadn't been affected, though, despite the fact that he'd been partying the night before at Mansion Club on Miami's South beach. Like his estranged wife Britney, the aspiring musician seems to be relishing his new-found single status as he celebrated New Year's Eve at a glamorous party. Sporting huge diamond earrings and an all-white suit, Kevin was joined by a gorgeous companion in a revealing gold-sequinned dress for the late-night event.
His pop starlet ex meanwhile hosted a bash in Las Vegas - although she was later assisted out of the nightclub after she started falling asleep. "By about one o'clock she was just done, so we took her out," said her manager, Larry Rudolph. "She was not drunk. She was just tired and falling asleep."
