With her divorce proceedings still underway Heather Mills McCartney has escaped to the Slovenian alps to celebrate her January 12 birthday with 40 friends and family. It is not the first time the European country has served as a haven for the 38-year-old landmine campaigner, who based herself there after the break-up of her first marriage.
During her most recent stay, Heather has been seen handling the snowy slopes with expertise - unsurprising considering she once worked in the area as a ski instructor. The mum-of-one has apparently told friends she feels better than she has done for months.
Heather is enjoying the break before her divorce from estranged husband Paul McCartney heats up again. According to recent reports she has instructed lawyers to apply for four of Sir Paul's properties in London, Sussex, New York and LA as part of a £50 million settlement.
And, in a move likely to raise eyebrows in her husband's family, she is planning to reinvent herself as a vegan health expert on the web. The Beatle's first wife Linda was a vegan campaigner and launched a vegetarian range. Now Heather is planning to publish her own vegan recipes, fitness tips and advice for leading a "green" lifestyle.
Meanwhile, Paul has also been escaping Blighty - but for a sunnier climes. The ex-Beatle has been enjoying a holiday in Jamaica with his and Heather's three-year-old daughter Beatrice, renting a five-bedroom villa at a resort he used to visit with first wife Linda. The 64-year-old singer has been spotted sailing on his own and looking relaxed and happy.
