GMTV newsreader Emma Baker was left red-faced on Monday after a studio blunder meant her private conversation was broadcast on live television.
Unbeknown to Emma her pre-bulletin chatter and preparations were shown live to the nation. The 26-year-old newsreader was in the Anglia TV studios in Norwich preparing to read the local news for GMTV viewers in the region, when the mistake happened.
A GMTV spokesman said: "This was down to human error. It seems a connection was made to Anglia earlier than expected."
Emma was shown revealing her stomach as she fiddled with her microphone, and asking an off-screen colleague who he was talking to on the phone. Despite reports that Emma referred to one of her team members as "shameless", producers claim that she was merely talking to the show's director, Seamus.
An Anglia spokesman denied the wording and said: "We have reviewed the tape and are satisfied that nothing was said that would have upset our viewers."
The presenter chatted for more than three minutes, before being told of the mistake and bravely starting to read the news. Andrea Goreham, 24, from Norwich, said: "I was cringing and felt so sorry for Emma. I felt like shouting at the TV to try and warn her she was on air." Another viewer added, "It was much more interesting than the usual local news."
