Living up to the adage that girls just want to have fun, Avril Lavigne danced through the streets of Beverly Hills over the weekend after enjoying brunch with her gal pals. The Napanee-born rocker is clearly putting into practice the upbeat message behind her new spring album The Best Damn Thing.
Avril, who married Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley last July, hasn't been able to contain her excitement over her forthcoming disc. "I promise you guys will love this record…it is my favourite one," the bubbly 22-year-old says of her latest oeuvre, which was produced with the help of her husband.
"It is really fast, fun, young, bratty, aggressive, confident, cocky in a playful way... all the good stuff. This record will make a great live show, and that's what I had in mind while writing it," she adds.
The singer is currently riding high in the charts with her hit single Keep Holding On, which she wrote for fantasy flick Eragon. Her third album - which includes the new single Girlfriend - is due for release in April.
