Canadian chanteuse Celine Dion was treated to the best seat in the house as she watched one of her favourite fashion labels, J Mendel, showcase some of its newest designs at a New York Fashion Week show in Bryant Park's Promenade tent on Thursday.
The stylish 38-year-old songstress looked on with particular interest as models hit the runway in navy chiffon gowns from the eveningwear collection. As one of the label's highest-profile fans - she wears creations by the fashion house's current designer, Gilles Mendel, for her Las Vegas stage show - it was not surprising Celine was given a prestigious central vantage point from which to view the new collection.
The singer, who resumes her show A New Day on February 28, was joined by shoe maestro Christian Louboutin, Sex And The City's Cynthia Nixon and British actress Natasha Richardson at the catwalk extravaganza. Before heading back to Vegas, she will jet into LA to unveil a new version of the song I Knew I Loved You, a tribute to Italian composer Ennio Morricone, who will receive an honorary Oscar at this year's Academy Awards ceremony.
