As a former Calvin Klein underwear model, Mark Wahlberg isn't exactly shy about showing off his undies. And there was no doubt Irish eyes were smiling when he decided to reveal a hint of his lucky shamrock boxer shorts in honour of St Patrick's Day while on a trip to Toronto. The buff Oscar nominee, who boasts Irish as well as Swedish, German and French Canadian roots, was in town to promote his new action flick Shooter at the MTV and MuchMusic studios.

In the thriller, which opens in North American theatres on March 23, the 35-year-old plays a marksman framed as a presidential assassin. It is set to be another hit for the Boston-born thesp, who won widespread acclaim following his performance in crime caper The Departed alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Jack Nicholson.

Despite being one of Tinseltown's most in-demand stars, Mark has stayed grounded thanks to his three-year-old daughter Ella and one-year-old son Michael with model Rhea Durham. "When they smile or they give you a hug, the amount of love that you feel and the amount of satisfaction that you feel…it really just puts everything into perspective," says Mark.
