While Gwen Stefani's evenings are devoted to thrilling fans on stage as part of her Sweet Escape tour, daytimes are clearly reserved for spending quality time with her biggest fan of all - son Kingston James. While gearing up for her sell-out concert at Calgary's Saddledome on Wednesday, the singer took her one-year-old boy, whose dad is Gwen's rocker husband Gavin Rossdale, for a mother and son stroll in the sunshine through the grounds of the Calgary Stampede.
Gwen, 37, has spoken in the past of how hard it was to tour when she was pregnant, so this time she can enjoy the experience with her little man by her side. "He gives me real balance," she said earlier this year. "You can go 100 miles an hour, but you still have to stop to hang out with him," she says.
True to form, she later wowed the Calgary audience with an adrenalin-filled performance helped by her Harujuku girls and choreographed dance numbers not to mention the glitzy set and numerous costume changes. She kicked off the extravaganza with her track The Sweet Escape - appropriately appearing in a black and white striped outfit locked in a gold jail cell, before breaking free as dollar bill confetti poured from the roof.
She followed up the Calgary gig with a concert in Vancouver on Thursday night before jetting off to Auburn, Washington for her Friday set. And though her British love Gavin wasn't with his family on this trip, perhaps Kingston's daddy will get to spend some time with him on his second Father's Day on Sunday - when Gwen has some downtime before hitting the stage again in Marysville, California on Monday.
