There's hardly a better time to catch up with your girlfriends than the lazy days of summer - a thought clearly shared by two of Canada's hottest young talents, actress Elisha Cuthbert and chanteuse Avril Lavigne. The pair have both been spotted having fun with gal pals in California this week.
Taking advantage of a gap in her schedule before jetting off to China where she was due to perform in Shanghai, Avril and a friend headed to a coffee shop in Beverly Hills. The playful pair smiled and shared jokes as they sipped iced coffee drinks through straws.
Meanwhile 24 star Elisha Cuthbert was clearly in summer mode as she spent some time with her close friend Paris Hilton at the socialite's Malibu beach party. Trying her hand at photography, Elisha snapped pics of Paris and one of her 12 furry friends, who are relishing life at her Malibu beach house this season, according to their owner.
"They like going on the beach," says the hotel heiress, of the pups. "I have little bikinis in my pet clothing line, so they wear their swimsuits."
Elisha, who hails from Calgary, is likely trying to soak up as much sun as possible with her friend of two years before heading back to work on the East Coast. The 24-year-old actress will star as Tim Allen's daughter in comedy The Six Wives Of Henry Lefay, set to begin filming in Connecticut in a few weeks.
