Rod Stewart has spent the past month enjoying the charms of Australia and New Zealand. And now that the rocker has moved his current tour from Australasia to Argentina, he's been checking out the vibrant culture of Buenos Aires, too - with wife Penny Lancaster and their two-year-old tot Alastair in tow.
On Monday the trio took to the cobbled streets of the city's San Telmo district to browse the antique fairs surrounding main square Plaza Dorrengo. The famous 'barrio', known for its Colonial-style buildings and old churches, is one of the oldest in the Argentine capital.
The You Wear It Well singer opted to cover up from the early autumn southern hemisphere sun in a cool panama-style hat and all-white ensemble, while his former model wife donned outsized shades and a sun dress to soak up some rays. Later on, the pair were due a rest, and relaxed over a romantic lunch in their hotel gardens.
Ahead of Rod's gigs later on this week, the family will no doubt be keen to explore other parts of the fascinating city, too. And Penny's stint on hit show Strictly Come Dancing will served her well for a trip to famous tango district La Boca, where the traditional dance form was born at the end of the 19th century. Street performers lining the main street Caminito, where houses are made of metal sheets painted in different colours, demonstrate the dance among the masses of tourists that descend upon the historical area - and often encourage visitors to take part in the action.
Other places Rod and Penny may like to see include the Nueve de Julio Avenue - the widest road in the world at 120 metres, and the Casa Rosada - the pink, presidential palace of Argentina.
