It seemed like her dream job, and one Kelly Brook "couldn't wait" to take up. But a week after being unveiled as the glamorous new addition to the Britain's Got Talent line-up, the TV presenter and model has had the offer of a position on the panel withdrawn.
Simon Cowell, the man behind the show, explained that when tapes from this weekend's filming were reviewed, having a fourth judge – in addition to himself, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden – was thought to be too complicated.
"It's become clear the format doesn't support another judge and we will never add a fourth judge to the panel," he said.
The TV impresario had warm words for the brunette beauty, who provided the show with numerous extra column inches in the short time she was on board, adding: "I have genuinely enjoyed working with Kelly, she is absolutely lovely and a complete professional".
Friends of the model claimed the new signing didn't work out because she'd been thrown in at the deep end. "Kelly was given no help whatsoever," one told the Daily Mirror. "She was effectively hired only hours before she started the job so had no time to prepare."
