Compliments must have been flying when Katie Derham and her fellow presenters got together for a chat at a London awards ceremony.
Eschewing her usual newsroom power suit, London Tonight anchor Katie made a statement in a moss green cocktail dress and metallic pumps. Her sophisticated approach was mirrored by former ITV reporter Andrea Catherwood who stood out in a striking toga gown.
Rounding off the gaggle of elegantly turned out newsreaders was the BBC's Emily Maitlis, in a floor-length royal blue affair.
They joined a star-studded audience at the Costa Book Awards, including Bond girl Rosamund Pike and David Morrissey, known to viewers as Gordon Brown in The Deal and for the 2008 TV version of Sense And Sensibility.
The celebrity-spotting didn't take the focus away from the serious business of prizegiving, though. During the ceremony Irish author Sebastian Barry was awarded the novel of the year title for The Secret Scripture.
