The Beckhams may have found a way to square a circle. Italian football team AC Milan has made no secret of its desire to hang on to David when his loan from LA Galaxy ends in March.
Meanwhile Victoria, whose career has really taken off stateside, was thought to be reluctant to uproot the family once again.
Now, Simon Cowell is said to have stepped in with a job on X Factor, making it more tempting for the former Spice Girl to return to Europe.
He's understood to have offered Posh £1 million per series, with reports claiming she would come in alongside Cheryl Cole as a new judge – replacing Dannii Minogue - or as a celebrity stylist.
It's not the first time the TV empresario has tried to sign Mrs Beckham. She previously turned him down in favour of supporting her husband's football career in LA.
A move to Italy now, though, would boost David's chances of playing for England again – something he desperately wants.
A source told the Daily Mail: "She doesn't want to come back to Europe with her tail between her legs. But if she can return here to be on X Factor, then that is different."
News of the talent show proposal coincides with reports that Victoria's dVb clothing range had a turnover of £180 million last year.
