Melanie Brown clearly has an added spring in her step at the moment, and her positive attitude isn't just down to excitement over the preparations for her upcoming Las Vegas show and fitness dvd she's currently promoting.

The former Spice Girl is said to have reached a discreet settlement in her dispute with Eddie Murphy over their daughter Angel Iris.

According to reports, the Dreamgirls star will pay £35,000 a month towards the care of the 22-month-old girl until she reaches 18 - a total of about £7 million. The funnyman will also have access to the toddler, whom he has not seen up until now.

Eddie and Mel B dated for six months in 2006, before going their separate ways when the Leeds-born star was five months pregnant.

Now married to producer Stephen Belafonte, the 33-year-old also has another daughter, Phoenix Chi, who's nine, from her first marriage to dancer Jimmy Gulzar.

The former Spice Girl has quietly reached an agreement over child support for Angel Iris. Melanie reportedly signed a non-disclosure contract, preventing her from discussing the settlement, said to be worth £35,000 per month
