Excitement was high on the subcontinent this week as the pop princess arrived to film Blue, an underwater epic featuring India's leading stars.
Sources close to the Aussie pop goddess said her cameo was "a bit of fun".
Partnered by the Indian screen's leading action man Akshay Kumar, Kylie will become the first international star perform a traditional Bollywood 'item number' in a Bollywood movie. This involves a seductive dancer in a revealing bikini or dress performing a sexy routine with no direct relevance to the plot.
The pair will shimmy away to a song written by AR Rahman, the composer of Slumdog Millionaire's Oscar-winning soundtrack - a prospect that has got Akshay determined to keep up his dance partner.
"I've heard Kylie moves as sweet as she sings, so it's back to the rehearsal room for me," he admitted.
