With Jennifer Aniston eating dog biscuits, Duffy providing the music and Boris Becker jumping through a heart-shaped hoop of fire to announce his latest engagement, one German TV show was definitely guaranteed ratings.

Appearing on Wetten, dass…?, meaning Wanna bet… , with her Marley & Me co-star Owen Wilson, America's favourite sweetheart was persuaded to munch on a dog treat by the programme's host, Thomas Gottschalk.

"I'll eat one, I'm the host. And Owen, you have to eat one," he told the Hollywood actors. "Jennifer, you can eat it if you want, but I'd really like to be able to tell my grandkids that I ate dog biscuits with Jennifer Aniston."

The leading lady obliged, but looked distinctly queasy after managing the unusual challenge.

And there was more excitement for the studio audience as they learned Wimbledon ace Boris is to marry his former girlfriend, 30-year-old Sharlely 'Lilly' Kerssenberg.

Just four months after his three-month engagement to jewellery designer Sandy Meyer-Wölden came to an end, the former tennis ace is back in the arms of Dutch model Lilly, from whom he split in November 2007.

"We've been together for nearly four years and had our ups and downs," said the 41-year-old, who plans on a June 12 ceremony in the Swiss resort of Saint Moritz. "Last summer I lost my way, but she took me back."

Astonished host Thomas, who is a friend of Boris, joked: "No, not again?" on hearing the news, before wishing the happy couple all the best and inviting his pal to prove his love with the fire stunt.

Lilly said they've received the blessing of Boris' ex-wife Barbara Feltus, who will apparently soon marry her Belgian artist partner Arne Quinze.

To the astonishment of the audience and the presenter, who is a personal friend of the former tennis ace, the sportman announced he and the Dutch model are to marry, four months after the end of his engagement to jewellery designer Sandy Meyer-Wölden
