She's only 13, but Faryl Smith has what it takes to beat music icons U2 to the top of the charts. The Kettering choirgirl with the powerful voice is set to shoot straight to number one with her debut classical album this weekend after breaking pre-sale records on shopping websites.
Faryl, who signed a record £2.3-million record deal last year after coming fourth in Simon Cowell show Britain's Got Talent, fitted in recording the album, entitled simply Faryl, around her school work.
She even ended up in the recording studio over the Christmas holidays to get it finished, but the hard work has paid off. "I loved every minute of it," she says. "Every singer dreams of recording their own album, but to have this chance at my age is amazing."
The youngster is now well on her way to stardom – she's being lined up to duet with opera legend Placido Domingo and will sing at Twickenham this Sunday before the Six Nations rugby match between England and France.
