Michael Jackson has added more dates to his ten-night farewell tour, which takes his O2 arena residency into 2010. The Thriller star will now play 45 nights at the venue, including seven shows next January and February.

The news is sure to delight fans thwarted in their attempts to secure pre-sale tickets on Tuesday. The coveted entries quickly sold out amid reports of "technical problems".

Tickets for the new dates, which go on sale on Friday, are already being snapped up on eBay for prices ranging from £170 to £10,000.

Those lucky enough to get to see the King of Pop in action are in for a nostalgic treat. His set is reported to be a crowd-pleasing combination of classics such as Billie Jean, Smooth Criminal, Beat It and Thriller.
