Gravely-ill reality TV star Jade Goody managed a smile on Monday as she enjoyed the sunshine-filled view from a bay window of her Essex home. The brave 27-year-old star, who has been drifting in and out of sleep since Friday, told her new husband Jack Tweed: "Sit me up and let me look out over the fields."
As the mum-of-two reaches the final stages of her battle with cancer she's requested her sons, Bobby Jack, five, and four-year-old Freddie, are not present when she passess away. "The boys may come over again if Jade wakes up, but she made it very clear that she did not want them to see her die," said a close friend of the family.
A visit from Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty had to be cancelled on Monday as Jade was too poorly to see her. The Indian actress had hoped to spend time catching up with her Celebrity Big Brother housemate as she'd missed her wedding due to filming commitments.
Meanwhile there was another poignant moment for Jade's fans as she said her goodbyes in her final magazine column. The star said she has "absolutely loved" making her reality TV series and apologised if scenes from her wedding made people cry. "I hope I've given you lots of laughs to remember me by," she wrote.
