In her floaty patterned maxi dress late reality TV star Jade Goody must have felt like the belle of the ball at the 2007 soiree for which she wore it. Now glamorous garments like her choice for the Pink Ice gala are to be auctioned off for charity by her grieving husband.
In accordance with Jade's dying wish Jack Tweed will either give her clothes away to Cancer Research shops or sell them to raise funds for Marie Curie nurses, whose staff cared for the 27-year-old reality star around the clock in her final hours.
"She told him to give (her wardrobe) away to shops or sell it – as long as the money goes to a good cause," said a family friend, speaking to a British newspaper.
Jack plans to clear out his wife's house after her funeral on April 4 as the "first step toward closure", the friend added.
As Jade's husband faced up to his heartbreaking task a steady flow of people, from mums with babies to pensioners, began arriving to sign a book of remembrance for the celebrity at St John the Baptist Church in Essex.
Mourners lit candles and then left messages in her memory, including one which said simply: "God bless our Essex princess".
