While she's soon to leave the This Morning sofa Fern Britton won't be disappearing from screens altogether it seems. Reports in the British press indicate she's accepted a job hosting a new BBC light entertainment show.
When the 51-year-old quit her early morning chat show role after a decade there was speculation of a rift with co-presenter Phillip Schofield. Fern has since dismissed the claims, however.
Speaking on This Morning she paid tribute to Phillip, calling him "simply the best", and at one point appeared to mouth an expletive to describe the rumours surrounding for her departure.
"I realise people like to speculate... but the reason is ten years is a long time and I'm ready for a change," said Fern, who announced this week her last show will be on July 17.
"My immediate plan is to build a vegetable plot in the autumn and become a This Morning viewer cheering on whoever the lucky person is who will work with Phillip," continued the mum-of-four, who had her arm around her co-host in a gesture of solidarity.
She then appeared to mouth the word "b******s" before adding: "That was for our deaf viewers".
