Big Brother star Shilpa Shetty could soon be popping into the Albert Square cafe. The Bollywood beauty is reportedly in talks to join the cast of EastEnders as a member of a new Indian family who will move into the Square later this year.

Her agent Max Clifford didn't go into details about an offer, but confirmed he was "talking to several TV people about potential work for Shilpa".

"There is a lot of interest in her. She is looking to spend more time over here because she likes it," he added.

Part of the reason Shilpa's such a regular visitor to Britain these days is her millionaire businessman boyfriend Raj Kundra is based here. The couple recently brought a £10 million in Weybridge, Surrey, together.

The 33-year-old star was first offered a part in 2007 as Phil Mitchell's love interest following her success on the reality show. She turned it down because of commitments back in her native India.

While Shilpa explores maintaining her profile on these shores, former EastEnders actress Jessie Wallace is thinking of reprising her role as Kat Moon.

Speaking on GMTV recently the 37-year-old said: "They've left the door open and I would go back. It's a great show and I do miss it."
