Over the year Paul McCartney's children have given him ample reason to congratulate himself on their upbringing, as they've proved time and again they're no idle, spoiled rock progeny.
This week pride was written large all over the former Beatle's face when his fashion designer daughter Stella notched up another career success with an award for her commitment to animal welfare.
Stella, who had a vegan upbringing under Paul and her late mum Linda, was recognised at the Forces For Nature benefit in New York for her pledge not to use leather and fur in her designs.
Father and daughter shared the occasion with Nancy Shevell, the singer's American girlfriend, who has become an integral part of the McCartney family circle in the last year. The divorcee was proving the former Beatle's daughter isn't the only one with a flair for fashion, by teaming her retro pink top with an unusual pair of transparent, sparkly leggings.
Canny Stella emphasised customers needn't sacrifice high fashion to be altruistic. "I don’t want people to buy my boots because they’re not leather. I want them to want the boots,” she said at the event.
