Colourful streamers and bunches of balloons signalled the arrival of a Variety Sunshine Bus at the Trinity School in Dagenham on Tuesday as Jonathan Ross and his wife Jane Goldman handed over the keys to the vehicle to staff and pupils.
The BBC presenter and his pink-haired spouse, who have three children of their own, Betty Kitten, Harvey Kirby and Honey Kinny, bought the specially designed 13-seater coach to help make the school's young children more mobile.
As well as a rear lift for wheelchair access the coach has a customised extra that sets it aside from all others. The cheerful exterior bears the names of its benefactors.
Jonathan, who's a keen supporter of the Variety Club, which helps provide care for disabled, sick and disadvantaged children, said: "Jane and I have long admired and supported the work of The Variety Club and are always delighted to be able to help out."
"Also, they have promised we can occasionally borrow the van on weekends," he cheekily quipped.
