There may be a few years between them but Nicole Kidman and Miley Cyrus were sartorially in-sync as they arrived for the 44th annual Academy Of Country Music Awards in floor-sweeping, leg-revealing gowns on Sunday.
Nine actress Nicole – who will soon be teaming up with best pal and fellow Aussie Naomi Watts to lens upcoming film Need – was at the Las Vegas event to support her musician husband Keith Urban. Ever graceful Nic had given her usually classical style approach a sassy twist. She hit the red carpet in a sequinned number by L'Wren Scott that featured a super-low, cut-out back and revealing leg split.
The gown was clearly a hit with her husband, who at one point drew further attention to his wife's shapely derriere by resting his hand on it.
Miley Cyrus, meanwhile, looked older than her 16 years in a faux-jewel-embellished gun-metal grey Monique Lhuillier gown with a side-split, as she arrived for the annual music celebration on the arm of her dad, Achy Breaky Heart star Billy Ray Cyrus.
The teen sensation made a quick change during proceedings, however, donning jeans and a jumper to perform one of her hit tracks in front of a star-studded audience which included Jennifer Love Hewitt and LeAnn Rimes. Also there was Matthew McConaughey who presented Carrie Underwood with the entertainer of the year gong.
It was a great night for talented 26-year-old American Idol winner Carrie – elegant in a Grecian-inspired one-shouldered 'hint of pink'-hued gown as she was named top female vocalist, too. Talented 19-year-old Taylor Swift also enjoyed success at the awards after her number one album, Fearless, was declared best of the year.
