U2 frontman Bono had plenty to smile about this week, enjoying a St Barts break in the company of two beautiful women – his wife of 26 years Ali Hewson and supermodel-turned-photographer Helena Christensen.
The trio, who are close friends and have holidayed together in the past, took along their three youngest children – Helena's nine-year-old son Mingus, and Bono and Ali's boys Elijah, nine and seven-year-old John, to enjoy the Caribbean sunshine.
For both Copenhagen-born Helena and fair trade designer Ali the vacation provided the opportunity to further hone their photographic skills. Now something of an expert, the 40-year-old Danish brunette, who had her first photography exhibition, A Quiet Story, in 2006, not only recorded moments on her own camera but was happy to cast her eye over Ali's efforts.
The two women have collaborated creatively in the past. Helena put her experience both behind and in front of the camera to good use when she snapped a campaign for Ali's Edun clothing company in 2007.
