The guest list included pop and fashion royalty and the bride - in true rock'n' roll fashion - was given away by her children from marriages to former rockers. And when actress Patsy Kensit married for the fourth time, becoming Mrs Jeremy Healy, the atmosphere was one of pure joy.
Adding to the upbeat ambiance at the civil service at Whitehall Palace in London was Simon Le Bon's wife Yasmin, who'd chosen an exquisite fuchsia gown for the happy occasion.
Elizabeth Hurley, the godmother of nine-year-old Lennon, Patsy's son by Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, was elegant as ever in a floaty, floral shift with lavender bow detail.
Though Holby City and Emmerdale star Patsy kept her dress under wraps her 47-year-old groom was seen smiling, suit in hand, outside the venue before his big moment.
After separating from Liam the 41-year-old, who also has a 16-year-old son James from her marriage to Simple Minds singer Jim Kerr, said: "I really don't think I'll ever do that again. Marriage truly hasn't worked for me.
"Love and romance are absolutely wonderful, but I've overdosed on them. I'm single now and absolutely loving it," she added.
Patsy changed her mind after becoming involved with DJ Jeremy, who's been part of her circle since she was a teen singer in Eighties band Eighth Wonder and he was a member of novelty pop group Haysi Fantayzee.
Though at one point they called their engagement off, the couple couldn't bear to be separated and reunited shortly afterwards.
This weekend Jeremy reportedly vowed "never to cheat, to be supportive and to always be contactable".
