Despite being an early frontrunner to take this year's Hell's Kitchen title, Grant Bovey is out of the show after head chef Marco Pierre White identified him as not being a team player.
Despite asking the fiery cook to let him stay the dad-of-three, who's the second celeb to get the boot, was told: "In service you preferred to sink than ask for help… You're a leader, you're a boss – that kitchen is not big enough for two bosses. I am the boss of Hell's Kitchen."
And while he may have become the latest casualty of the kitchen following Sunday's exit of Shameless actor Jody Latham, Grant's main thought was for his wife and fellow contestant Anthea Turner, who sobbed upon hearing of her husband's elimination.
As he prepared to leave the show, the property developer asked Marco to take care of Anthea, to which the restaurateur replied: "You have my word as a man, if Anthea is struggling emotionally, then I will help her – I will look after her, you have my word".
For Tuesday's show the contestants were split into two teams to make sauces; Adrian Edmondson, Anthea and Dynasty's Linda Evans for meat, and Miss Dynamite - Niomi McLean-Daley – Grant and Danielle Bux for fish. Former footballer Bruce Grobbelaar did not have to take part in the task since he had "nothing to prove" after impressing his mentor the previous day. At the end of the evening, the celebs were tasked with preparing dinner for Britain's Got Talent judges Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden.
There was a special surprise for model Danielle – a visit from her fiancé Gary Lineker who popped into the kitchen with her seven-year-old daughter Ella. Evidently missing her mum, the little girl asked her to "come home in two days please".
