Phillip Schofield has just returned from an emotional holiday with his mum in Rome, after whisking her away for a four-day break to take her mind off the one year anniversary of the death of his father Brian on May 1.
And to keep fans and friends bang up to date during his absence, the 47-year-old presenter posted regular updates on micro-blogging website Twitter.
"Just left the Pantheon en route to the Vatican," the father of two wrote on Saturday. "Am I the first person to tweet in the Sistine Chapel?!"
Using the website to share his movements, as well as providing coverage of Rome's weather – "It's been mostly beautiful, had a 10 min thunder storm and heavy rain earlier but it soon cleared up and it's sunny again now" – Philip also accompanied some of his posts with photographs.
Some of the moments captured on camera that made their way onto Phillip's Twitter page include a snap of him and his mum Pat taking part in the traditional coin throwing at the city's beautiful baroque landmark, the Trevi fountain. Legend has it that if a visitor throws one coin into the fountain they are ensured a return trip to Rome.
Posting a message on Tuesday ahead of his impending return to This Morning the Lancashire-born star wrote: "After such a relaxing 4 days, I hope I can remember how to do this. Soon find out we're on in 12 minutes!"
