After scorching round the track in Barcelona at the weekend at the Spanish Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton headed for the Italian Rivera to enjoy life in the slow lane with his pop star girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger.
The couple got away from it all on a sunshine break to picture perfect Portofino, which is a favourite of stars including Elton John, Rod Stewart and Jennifer Lopez. It hugs a hillside on Italy's northwestern coast above a bay once plied by local fishing boats which these days is packed with the yachts of the rich and famous.
Twenty-four-year-old Lewis and his Pussycat Dolls singer girlfriend took in the spectacular views of the surrounding countryside as they strolled around the town hand-in-hand.
And the pair seemed to have a memento of their romantic holday in mind as they stopped off at a local market stall to pick up some trinkets and souvenirs.
A year into their relationship, and things are clearly going well for Honolulu-born Nicole and the Formula One champ. The 30-year-old beauty has called the Stevenage-born driver her "soul mate", explaining: "Lewis is a family person, just like me."
