Andrew Lloyd Webber eyes Susan Boyle for West End role

Susan Boyle's dream of becoming as successful as her idol Elaine Paige could be on its way to fruition. The Britain's Got Talent contestant is reportedly being eyed by Andrew Lloyd Webber for one of his West End productions.

"She is a terrific sport and she's a great fan of my shows," the 61-year-old composer told the Sun after bumping into the singing sensation at the programme's London recording studios.

"If she wanted to be in (a show), well it could happen. It would have to be the right role. Maybe I know what it could be, but I'm not telling," he teased, before assuring: "She's got a great future."

While Andrew – the man behind West End blockbusters like Cats and The Phantom Of The Opera - is keeping his cards close to his chest, insiders believe Susan may step into the shoes of Eva Peron in Evita.

If so, it would represent a major triumph for the West Lothian church volunteer whose idol Elaine filled the role between 1978 and 1980.
