A spokesman for Michael Jackson has denied reports the king of pop is suffering from skin cancer, saying he "doesn't have any diseases whatsoever". The singer's physician Dr Tohme Tohme told a New York newspaper: "He's in perfect health."

The Thriller singer's rep was responding to a story in the Sun newspaper which claimed 50-year-old Michael had been diagnosed with cancer after doctors noticed spots on his neck and face.

"(It's) not true," Dr Tohme told the New York Daily News. "(Michael) is in the best of health." Though the singer does suffer from the skin pigmentation disorder vitiligo, he has no serious symptoms which would point to such a diagnosis, the doctor stressed.

Michael – who was pictured leaving a medical facility in Beverly Hills at the weekend - is currently rehearsing for his 50 London shows, scheduled to take place this summer. According to promoters he's "keeping up with dancers half his age".

The concerts will kick of on July 8, provided a lawsuit proposed by a US promoter to challenge the legality of the O2 arena dates doesn't succeed. It alleges Michael agreed not to do any concerts before a Jackson Five gig scheduled for July 2010.
