Heather Mills gave Brighton locals a preview of what they can expect when her vegan café V Bites opens in Hove, Sussex, in July.

And speaking at a cookery demonstration this weekend, Paul McCartney's ex told the audience she would roll up her sleeves and get stuck in with some of the cooking.

"I'll be coming in on Sundays, making my speciality of all the roast potatoes, parsnips, all the veg and gravy," promised the model-turned-campaigner.

Wearing a V Bites apron for the occasion the mum of one prepared a meat-free stir-fry and sweetcorn chowder. The menu also included her tatties - scored beforehand to make them extra crispy - she explained.

Her new eatery is due to feature an ice rink in winter and a family creche area with interactive displays to teach kids about different fruits and vegetables. For those looking for a bite on the run, vegan burgers will be served at a side hatch.

To give potential diners updates on the progress of the restaurant - the former Big Fish Café which she purchased for £140,000 - the 41–year-old has set up a Twitter account on https://twitter.com/heatherofficial.
