Since the birth of his sixth grandchild last month, Ronnie Wood has moved to improve his relationship with the new arrival's mum, his daughter Leah, hoping to become more involved in the baby's life.
The 62-year-old Rolling Stones guitarist, whose interaction with his children has been strained since he left wife Jo last summer for young Russian Ekaterina Ivanova, reportedly sent his daughter and her husband Jack McDonald some hand-painted furniture for the new arrival.
The gift was accompanied by a card reading: "From Dad and Ekaterina".
According to reports Leah and her siblings have so far refused to meet their dad's girlfriend.
Before the arrival last month of baby daughter Maggie May, Leah was seen lunching with her dad in what was their first public outing together since Ronnie left her mum Jo for the 20-year-old.
Leah is understood to have been particularly shocked by the split – which came shortly after Ronnie walked her down the aisle at her June wedding – and has been a rock for her 54-year-old mother as she made the adjustment to single life.
"Leah's loyalty is to Jo, but she also wants her daughter to have a grandfather," a source told one British newspaper. "Ronnie is desperate to mend their relationship and is hoping he and Ekaterina can get to know the baby together."
For her part glamorous Jo, who also has a son - Tyrone - with the rock star, has said she hopes to remain on good terms with her estranged husband. "I still want us to get on for the children's sake. I want us to be able to have a laugh together."
