As Michael Jackson's family struggle to come to terms with their loss after his sudden death, one of their most pressing issues is what to do about the care of his children.
It's not yet known who will look after the youngsters - Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II, known as Blanket - in the long term. Michael's instructions on what should happen to them in the event of his death are expected to be revealed in his will.
In the meantime, many of the star's close family - who gathered at the Jackson family home in Encino, LA, the morning after his death - have reportedly offered to look after them.
"Probably Mrs Jackson will take care of them, she loves them dearly," Brian Oxman, a longtime lawyer for the Jackson family, said, referring to the star's mother Katherine.
Michael's second wife, Debbie Rowe – the mother of Prince Michael and Paris - handed sole custody of the children to the star after a legal battle.
The identity of Prince Michael II's mum was never revealed, though it's understood she had also relinquished all parental rights. It's likely to take months before it becomes clear whether Michael had any funds left to pass on to his children.
The singer - who was planning a multi-million dollar comeback – was reportedly hundreds of millions of dollars in debt at the time of his death.
