While there was a lot of interest in the fast-paced equestrian action, the serious business of seeing and being seen was also on the minds of celebrities at the exclusive Cartier International Polo event, held in the presence of Prince Charles, on Sunday.

Fresh from her dazzling appearance at the premiere of Brad Pitt's new flick Inglourious Basterds, Canadian actress Neve Campbell was adding Hollywood sparkle to the high society occasion. Among those also enjoying the hospitality at the Guards Polo Club near Windsor Castle was Anna Friel, the star of the US series Pushing Daisies, and her partner Harry Potter actor David Thewlis. Also on hand was TV talent judge Piers Morgan and his writer love Celia Walden

As glamorous as these ladies looked, it was former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell who managed to steal the limelight. And it wasn't just because the Watford-born star was escorted by dashing beau Henry Beckwith and looked so chic in her sassy lace shift. Geri set the cameras whirring by laughing off a minor wardrobe malfunction. When her dress rode up revealing more than she'd intended, the attractive 36-year-old hid momentarily behind her boyfriend, before making a quick adjustment and emerging as immaculate as ever.

With talking points like this and the bubbly flowing, even the drizzle didn't deter the VIPS from having a fabulous time. As Neve put it: "What can you do? This is England! We're having a good time anyway, right?".
