The doctor who treated Michael Jackson on the day of his death has spoken publicly for the first time. "I have done all I could do, I told the truth, and I have faith the truth will prevail," Dr Conrad Murray said in a brief video message posted on YouTube.
In the one-minute clip, the physician, who is originally from Grenada and Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean, thanked his friends for their messages of support.
He explained that he hadn't responded personally because he was scared to use his telephone or send mails. "Because of all that is going on I am afraid to return phone calls or use my e-mail", he said.
Drug enforcement officials are investigating the theory that he supplied the star with propofol, a powerful anaesthetic, usually reserved for used in operating theatres.Three weeks ago police searched two premises connected to the doctor, seizing mobile phones and a computer hard drive as part of their investigations. He has also been also been interviewed twice.
As the medic released his statement, it emerged that the Thriller artist will be buried in a private ceremony on August 29 – the date that would have been his 51st birthday.With the post mortem tests concluded, the singer can now finally be laid to rest. He will be buried at the Los Angeles' Forest Lawn cemetery with only friends and close family present.
