It was the moment This Morning fans had been waiting for. Holly Willoughby took her place on the show's sofa - and viewers were quick to comment their first impressions of the new presenter.
The programme's website was flooded with messages during the former model's first day. While some loved her bubbly personality and felt she had brightened up their mornings, others - missing former host Fern Britton – felt she was "too glam" and that someone older might have been better suited for the role.
Dressed for business in a tailored cream Diane Von Furstenberg shift and classic patent Christian Louboutins, Holly began her new job, nervously holding onto Phillip Schofield's arm. She admitted she had anxiety dreams about how she looked in the first programme, and in them, her revealing Dancing On Ice dress had come back to haunt her. "I dreamt the first item on the show today was a dress comparison, where I had to bring in the dress from Dancing On Ice and wear it again," she said.
But the mum-of-one received plenty of encouragement for her appearance, including her new poker-straight hair. "Holly you're doing a marvellous job and you look gorgeous," said guest Chris Moyles. After the final credits had rolled, Holly said of her first day: "It feels like I've queued for two months for a roller coaster. Now I've had a go I can't wait to get back on."
