The chance to see the real life queen of pop does not happen often. So when Madonna made an appearance in Rio de Janeiro last week, the locals were out in force to catch a glimpse of the superstar.

But gazing from afar was not what one youngster had in mind. A young boy who lives in the Morro Dona Marta slum where Madonna was visiting, decided to try for a one-on-one with the singer.

Dodging security he hoisted himself up a staircase to catch up with Madonna, who was at the time chatting to Rio's governor Sergio Cabral.

The mum-of- four was seen laughing as the cheeky chap smiled at her as he offered his services as a tour guide.

Madonna's visit to Brazil was part of her plans to set up a new charity helping the country's children, called Success For Kids. The Give It To Me star - who was in the country for five days with boyfriend Jesus Luz, and who met his mother on the visit – managed to secure an incredible $7 million from Brazil's richest man during her stay.

She flew to billionaire Eike Batista's luxury island home on Saturday to discuss the project after her agreed to help fund the charity.

Over dinner Eike – worth an estimated $7.5 billion - reportedly asked how much Madonna needed. Having already raised $3milion that week, she said she was aiming to take the total to $10 million.

And when the generous entrepreneur offered to make up the difference, she is believed to have broken down in tears.
