Fans of Desperate Housewives were shocked to see the show's super fit star pile on the pounds for a special episode recently. And on the back of that transformation, Teri Hatcher has shown viewers what really lay beneath that fat-suit by stripping down to her lingerie.
The 45-year-old beauty showed off her incredible body during a scene in a strip club, where she gets plenty of support from male patrons as she takes her clothes off while performing a raunchy dance.
Susan – Teri's hopelessly romantic, and clumsy, character – decides to bare all to teach her husband Mike a lesson when he tries to convince her going to strip clubs with the boys is not a big deal.
She visits the club while her man is there and puts on a performance of her own – walking up on to the stage in a silk blouse and short skirt and then proceeding to strip off.
At one point Susan even hangs upside down by her legs from the pole, to many cheers from the crowd. But her husband is not happy. As she unveils a tartan bustiere, he demands to know what she is doing, to which she replies: "Giving people what they want."
When she then goes to remove her red bra, shocked Mike says: "Don't you dare. Susan, I'm serious." It seems the brunette might well leave with her modesty still intact – one shot shows Mike scooping her up in his arms after covering her up with his coat.
US viewers will have to wait until Sunday to see exactly what happens, while UK fans will have to hold on until the Spring.
While shedding clothes in public is out of the ordinary for most people, the scene allowed Terri to draw on her own life experiences - she once took classes for pole-dancing workouts.
And although she hasn't taken lessons for around four years, the mum-of-one could still call on that knowledge to help choreograph the scene.
But most importantly, Teri says, she was able to keep her sense of humour intact while stripping off. "That’s why I'm comfortable with it, because at the end of the day, it’s a comedic scene between Mike and Susan and that’s what I wanted it to be," says the star.
