What do you get the guy who has everything for Valentine's Day? That was the dilemma facing Angelina Jolie as February 14 approached. And the actress has apparently come up with an unusual and original gift for her loved one Brad Pitt, reportedly splashing out £12,000 on a 200-year-old olive tree. The leafy present will be installed in the grounds of the couple's Chateau Miraval home, in France.
A perfect present might be the key to a winning February 14, but self-confessed Valentine's Day hater Ashton Kutcher has some advice for lovers out there – get the treats in early. "I actually think that Valentine's Day must start first thing in the morning," says the star, married to Demi Moore. "I really, really do believe the only way you're really going to catch somebody off-guard on Valentine's Day is when they're waking up."
"By waiting till the end of the day, now you have to compete with what everyone else has done throughout the day," he continued. "So if you hit it first thing in the morning, they're all competing with you and you set the bar. Do not leave it hanging. At least plant the seed."
Of course it does help to actually spend the day with your beloved, something which Renee Zellweger's actor beau Bradley Cooper seems to have overlooked. "My mother is coming to visit and we are going to have a nice Valentine's Day," the Daily Express quoted him as saying. He added he is "very excited" about the whole thing, and when asked if any other women might be there, he replied: "That's it."
