After over a year of dating, Mel Gibson and his Russian girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, have reportedly decided to end their relationship. The news comes five months after the couple (pictured in March) welcomed a baby together – a little girl named Lucia – but the pair have now amicably called time on their romance, a source told People magazine.
"They just drifted apart," revealed a close friend of Oksana, 39, and actor Mel. "They're both working hard on their careers and trying to raise a sweet baby together. They're still friends and they'll both raise Lucia together."
Mel, 54, is currently in Mexico working his latest film. How I spent my Summer Vacation, while Oksana has plans to travel to Russia next week to perform in a charity concert.
In addition to Lucia, who was born on October 30, Mel is a father to six sons and a daughter with his estranged wife Robyn, while the striking brunette has a son, Alexander, from a relationship with James Bond star, Timothy Dalton.
Speaking about the new baby and Oksana in a US TV interview back in January, Mel enthused: "She (Lucia) luckily looks more like her mother than me and is an angel, and as for the mother, it turns out she's a wonderful mother."
