When it came to the London premiere of Sex and the City 2, Sarah Jessica Parker had no problems choosing her outfit for the big night. "There's only one person I could have worn tonight and that was Alexander McQueen," said the actress, who was deeply affected by the British designer's death. "Lee, this is for you. I miss you very much," added the star, who also wore a McQueen creation for the first film's London premiere.

Of course, all the SATC girls were on stylish form. Kristen Davis was sparkling – literally – in a gold sixties Norman Norell halter gown with crystal waistband. Also stepping out in a vintage frock was Kim Cattrall – exuding old world Hollywood glamour in a Thierry Mugler corseted wrap gown from the 1990s. And trying out a new 'do was Cynthia Nixon – showing off curly hair extensions. The star who plays Miranda in the film chose a teal Narciso Rodriguez gown which perfectly suited her porcelain complexion and completed the look with a silver box clutch.

The actresses were all delighted to be back in London. "Last time London was our first premiere so it was our first indication things would go well," explained Kristen. "We have such wonderful memories from here." "I'm so sentimental about London for a number of reasons," added Sarah Jessica. "It's always so special to be here."

Thousands of fans had turned up at London's Leicester Square in the hope of catching a glimpse of the stars of the film. And a number of UK celebs flocked to see the film. Among them was Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, who wore a fairytale pink gown.

Kylie Minogue found herself in fits of giggles on the red carpet when Pineapple Dance Studios star Louis Spence began clowning around, baring his chest and crawling like a cat at her feet.
