It's at this stage in a pregnancy that even the most devoted mother might be asking herself why she signed up for another baby. Jamie Oliver's wife Jools – expecting her fourth in September – has only ever wanted to be a mum, though. And she's well aware that means balancing the tough days with the incredible joy their posse of girls brings them.
So, struggling with shopping bags and pushing their youngest, 14-month-old Petal on a push bike near their London home, the 34-year-old put her best foot forward. In a stripy T-shirt dress, with Converse plimsolls and trendy yellow aviator shades, Jools even managed to look like the chic Primrose Hill mother that she is. The natural beauty has never been afraid to show motherhood as it really is.
In April last year, she won praise for leaving hospital without any makeup on hours after giving birth, despite the photographers camped outside. As her husband explains caring for Petal and her sisters, Daisy, seven, and Poppy, eight, has been the making of her. He says: "She just wanted to be a mother and that was it. I didn't understand at all. Why would you want to be a mother? We all want to have jobs and careers, don't we? "Everyone around me was the same. Until she became a mother, I never understood how honest she was being. She's a mum and that's her world."
