Mel Gibson's ex Oksana gives a thumbs up after legal meeting with troubled actor

November 3, 2010

Although she looked a little tired, Oksana Grigorieva still managed a faint smile and a 'thumbs up' for the cameras. The Russian musician had just emerged from a 12 hour deposition with her lawyers and her ex Mel Gibson.

It had been a day-long meeting as part of the ongoing custody battle between the two parties over their one-year-old daughter Lucia. The session was the first time 40-year-old Oksana and Mel, 58, had come face to face since they began the dispute earlier this year. Oksana left the lawyers offices in Century City, LA, at 9pm. Mel followed separately shortly after. The meeting comes a week after the Braveheart star was dropped from comedy The Hangover 2.

He was due to film a cameo role as a tattooist, but it was abandoned after objections from the cast and crew. The film's director Todd Phillips said that although he thought Mel would have been great in the film, he "didn't have the full support" of his co-workers. Things seem to be going from bad to worse for Mel, who is currently being investigated by police over claims of domestic abuse against Oksana. His Russian ex, meanwhile, is being investigated over allegations she tried to extort money from the Hollywood star. Both filed restraining orders against each other following their acrimonious split in April. Shortly after, there was a storm of controversy when a string of leaked telephone recordings, allegedly between Mel and Oksana, hit the internet. They reportedly demonstrated the dad-of-eight using racist language and threatening the mother of his baby.
