Gillian McKeith has been making headlines on I'm a Celebrity since she entered the jungle. From her erratic behaviour – she reportedly shouted "I'm pregnant" in a bid to avoid jungle jail – to whether she really fainted or not. The nation's viewers are gripped. But could her time on the show be coming to an end?
The contestants are gearing up for an eviction in Thursday night's edition of the show, and Gillian is one of the frontrunners to be sent home. The nutritionist is up against Stacey Solomon, Dom Joly, Sheryl Gascoyne, Lembit Opik and Shaun Ryder. Gillian's daughters Afton, ten, and Skylar, 16, have flown out to the Queensland jungle to welcome their mother if she is indeed voted out by the public. The 51-year-old has been a controversial contestant from the start. She baffled viewers and fellow contestants alike when she quickly announced to having a list of phobias encompassing everything from swimming and insects. Ten million viewers watched as she collapsed live on air at the prospect of a seventh consecutive bushtucker trial, only to be replaced by Linford Christie. Then Gillian had Stacey in tears when she snapped at her after the former X Factor contestant suggested she should go home.
And the nutritionist's name was back on everyone's lips after she was rumbled for smuggling banned items into camp. Stacey Solomon accidentally alerted producers that something was going on when - having seen Gillian's goodies - she asked for "special stuff" to go in her lunch too. After producers requested contestants to hand over anything they shouldn't have brought into the jungle, Gillian gave up her haul. It consisted of eight stock cubes, five pouches of Japanese miso soup powder, and bags of celery and garlic, cumin, rock salt and herbs. "I smuggled it all in my knickers," said the 51-year-old. "I have a small bottom and I just grew it a bit when I came in here. I had special pockets."
