More fabulous images of Nicole and KeithMany people know the story of how a ravishing screen heroine fell in love with a motorcycle-riding country music man with long hair and tattoos. At the time Nicole Kidman was one of Hollywood's most famous divorcees, and her courtship and marriage to Keith Urban was closely followed. Less well known are the facts behind his stint in rehab for alcohol and drug addiction four months after their fairytale wedding, and that he credits the actress with saving him. Speaking on Oprah Winfrey's chat show, the Grammy award-winner and his wife of four years opened up about the night she staged an intervention with a few close friends of theirs in Nashville.

"To see love in action to that degree… I'd never experienced anything like that," he reveals. Describing her handling of the situation as "perfect", he continued: "Everything was just designed, I believe, for that moment to fuse us together". Instead of going on with the gig he had planned for that night, Keith went into treatment – his third time in eight years. "I had to make a decision which road I was going to take, once and for all," he said. "I'd been at that crossroads before and always taken the wrong road." What was different this time? asked the chat show queen. "Love," he replied.

The charismatic singer then read out the dedication on his latest album to Oprah.“Nicole Mary – I continue to be brought to my knees by this love of ours," he had written. "I am in awe of how this blessed family we are creating stretches and fearlessly opens my vulnerable heart. "I just want to be a better man for you, and father for our heavenly Sunday Rose, and have you go to sleep every night knowing that no one has ever, or will ever, love you as much I do… and all we need is faith.”

Australia star Nicole – who was formerly married to Tom Cruise – also got on the couch. She told Oprah their relationship works because: "We're just very tight, and we stay really tight." The couple's appearance ended with Keith performing the new single he wrote for Nicole, Put You in a Song, while she clapped and blushed sweetly from the audience.Watch Keith sing his new love song on Oprah
