Kate and Muse front man Matt, 32, have been dating for around nine months after meeting at the Coachella music festival in April last year. They have been virtually inseparable since then – Kate introduced the musician to her mum Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell just three months into the relationship. So who is the father-to-be? Matt, who was born in Cambridge and raised in Teignmouth, Devon, has music in his blood. His father George was a rhythm guitarist in the 1960s group The Tornados – the first British band to have a number one in the US with Telstar.Matt is no stranger to musical success either. Alternative rock band Muse, which formed in 1994, have become one of the industry's most acclaimed acts.
Throughout their history they have picked up a number of awards – from five MTV Europe gongs and eight NME's to two Brits and, as of November 2010, had sold over ten million albums worldwide.Matt himself has received a wide variety of accolades as the band's frontman – from being proclaimed the sexiest man in rock to "the Hendrix of his generation".Since the start of their romance, the pair have been spotted together around the world; holidaying in Apsen with Kate's parents, strolling hand-in-hand around New York City and sharing a double-date with Renee Zellweger and Bradley Cooper in Paris.
And Matt - engaged to Italian psychologist Gaia Polloni until September of 2009 - has already taken his girl on the road. The couple were also seen at a café terrace in Vienna, Austria during Muse's European tour. What is certain, is that Kate is totally smitten. Speaking last summer, at the start of their romance, The How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days star described Matt as "lovely" adding that they "were learning about each other and it's wonderful. "I do believe in love," said Kate, who has been linked to Owen Wilson, Lance Armstrong and Alex Rodriguez since the end of her marriage in 2006. "I believe that when you really open yourself up to love, it’s the most beautiful thing. "And so, with a new baby on the way in 2011, is an engagement next on the cards for this enamoured couple?
