The stars turning to surrogacy to experience joy of parenthood Cristiano Ronaldo isn't the only celeb getting to grips with the less favourable aspects of parenthood.A week after the footballer admitted he changes his son's nappies, Elton John has hinted he does the same.

"I love the smell of nappies," said the Rocket Man singer, whose son with his partner David Furnish was born on Christmas Day via a surrogate. "Fatherhood is fantastic," he added. 'It's been the most wonderful thing that's happened to me after meeting David." The star said being a dad is "surprisingly relaxing", adding: "This little soul that you're feeding, changing, bathing and telling bedtime stories to is a blank canvas. "And all it needs is love and nurturing. When he gets to talking and running around, I will probably feel a little different." Elton opened up about fatherhood just before the LA premiere of Gnomeo & Juliet, the animated film he has executively produced with David.

The pair – who walked the red carpet in matching 'Gnome' adorned glasses – were joined by a host of stars on the red carpet. Leading the charge were James McAvoy, Emily Blunt and Ugly Betty actress Ashley Jensen - who provide voices for characters in the film. Others on the guest list included Gavin Rossdale – who brought along his two little boys with Gwen Stefani - Zuma and Kingston.
