Helen plays tea shop manager Ida in the remake of the 1947 classic which tells the tale of Mods and Rockers in Brighton. The original Graham Greene novel is set in 1938, but the modern film brings the action forward to 1964. Joining Dame Helen at the unveiling were her co-stars from the film, including John Hurt and rising UK stars Andrea Riseborough and Sam Riley.

Film fans might remember Sam from his critically acclaimed role playing Ian Curtis in Joy Division film Control.

The 31-year-old plays thug Pinkie Brown – a part which a young Richard Attenborough took on in the original film. Playing his love interest is Andrea, who recently starred opposite Carey Mulligan and Keira Knightley in Never Let Me Go and will also appear in Madonna's film about Wallis Simpson. The brunette beauty chose a striking Armani gown to launch the film.
