Maintaining a blossoming romance while living some 10,000 miles apart is no easy task. But Elizabeth Hurley hasn’t let distance hamper her budding relationship with former Australian cricketer Shane Warne, who is based in Melbourne. On Tuesday evening, the English model, 45, was photographed as she landed Down Under for a romantic rendezvous with her new man.
And less than an hour later she was at the door of Shane's home – which has reportedly received a mini-makeover ahead of Elizabeth's visit.
Workmen were earlier seen erecting privacy screens around the property, while cleaners and gardeners were also spotted hard at work.
And, according to Australian press, scented bathroom items and a new mattress were delivered ahead of the mum-of-one's arrival.
The intercontinental couple's relationship only came to light in early December – but it seems to be getting serious.Onlookers reported that one of the few times the gates of 41-year-old Shane's home have opened after Elizabeth's arrival was to admit his mother, Brigitte. So far, most of their romance has been conducted on Twitter – Elizabeth also used the networking site to announce her separation from husband Arun Nayar on December 12 following press reports linking her with Shane.
Recently their public conversations seem to revolve around the actress' new parrot Ping Pong, believed to have been bought as a Christmas present by the Australian sports star - who also spilt from his spouse last year. "Trying to teach her to sing Rule Britannia – maybe I'll attempt Waltzing Matilda too so she can serenade you," Elizabeth wrote at the weekend. "No need for jealousy SW, she's not getting any cuddles or kisses. "And writing of her impending visit to Australia, she added: "If you haven’t lined up koalas and kangaroos for my next trip I shall be desolate."
